Elements of an Ideal Technology Support Environment

How can our institutions respond to this crisis? We propose a new, holistic model of support that includes four core components:

• A "whole-product" focus
• A strategic economic model
• A support mechanism focused on customer needs
• A reliable baseline information infrastructure

Naturally, the specific implementations of these components will vary from institution to institution when applied in higher education. Of utmost importance is that for the model to work, all four components must be addressed and implemented holistically as part of the redefinition of technology support.
