Online Proceedings

Speaker materials for online proceedings due by November 15, 2004. Although an actual paper is not required, it is certainly welcome. Please see guidelines [36 KB DOC] for word-processed, PDF, or HTML documents. The online conference proceedings will be announced about two to three weeks after the conference.

Copyright Statements

Because you will retain the intellectual property rights for your paper or other materials related to your conference presentation, we ask that you place a copyright statement to that effect on your materials. We suggest that you use the following statement, which is consistent with EDUCAUSE's use of the material, as the first slide in a PowerPoint document, or on the first page of a word-processed, PDF, or HTML document:

"Copyright [your name] [year]. This work is the intellectual property of the author. Permission is granted for this material to be shared for non-commercial, educational purposes, provided that this copyright statement appears on the reproduced materials and notice is given that the copying is by permission of the author. To disseminate otherwise or to republish requires written permission from the author."

Forms

Audio/Visual Request Form
This form is to be completed and submitted by the lead presenter after reaching consensus with all speakers in the session.

At EDUCAUSE our goal is to make your conference presentation as successful as possible. Each meeting room will be equipped with a computer. This computer will be connected to the Internet and to a projector. The computers will have a floppy, CD, and DVD drive available. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), Internet Explorer, Netscape, Acrobat Reader, WinZip, Real Audio, and Windows Media Player will be installed.

Each speaker is strongly encouraged to check into the Speaker Staging Room well in advance of his/her presentation. A similar computer will be available in the room to test the presentation.

To ensure your presentation runs smoothly, we strongly request that you check in at the speaker staging room well before your session to test your presentation. We will provide technical assistance as needed.

If you are more comfortable using your own computer, or if your presentation requires a special application, we will need to disconnect the computer and the network connection in the room from the projector and connect it to yours. Then after your presentation, it will be necessary to reconnect for the next speaker. While we are happy to accommodate this, we would prefer, if possible, that you use the existing equipment in the room to reduce the potential for configuration problems.

Biographical Information Form
This form, to be completed and submitted by each individual speaker, will assist the session convener in preparing an introduction for your presentation, if applicable. This biographical information will also be linked to your name on our Web conference program. When you provide your e-mail address to begin this process, you will have an opportunity to review the bio we already have (if applicable), and either accept it or modify it. Please be sure to fill out all fields, and use a narrative paragraph form rather than a list of bullets or resume form.

Presenter Agreement Form
This form, to be completed and submitted by each individual speaker, affirms the originality of your presentation, gives permission to record, addresses intellectual property rights, and confirms the necessity of registering yourself for the conference and paying the registration fee in advance.

Refusal to Record Form
This form is due no later than September 1, 2004. This form confirms your refusal to allow EDUCAUSE to record your session. Please only submit this form if you are REFUSING permission to record.
