2008 Respondent Demographics

These charts represent the institutions who have submitted the 2008 core data survey as of Saturday, November 21, 2009. Clicking on the Carnegie Classification category to the left will bring up demographic data about each of the responding institutions in that category. Note that in some cases information is not available or does not apply (for example, for international institutions).

The source of these data is the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) of the National Center for Education Statistics. Some participating international institutions have individually provided such demographic data to EDUCAUSE so that they could be included in the demographic and benchmarking analyses offered through the CDS service.

Note that the Student FTE number was derived by adding the total of full-time students to 1/3 of the total of part-time students reported to IPEDS for 2007. The Total Student Headcount number was derived by adding the total of full-time students to the total of part-time students reported to IPEDS for 2007.
