Website Redesign and Implementation: User Training and Lessons LearnedSession DetailsTuesday, April 14, 2009 3:45 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Carmel I Session Type: Corporate and Campus Solutions Speaker(s)
AbstractSan Mateo Community College District will share some important lessons learned from its recent project to implement a new college website. Initially, web committee members thought that technical issues like site design and navigation would present the biggest challenge to a timely project launch. They found, however, that the “human factor” in providing and updating content can be underestimated. User training (and sometimes retraining) is required. Finding mentors to share and spread knowledge should not be a sidebar task. Although this project is still under way, the district is happy to discuss this experience with other professionals facing similar process and implementation challenges. |
