Abstract

As software costs continually rise while IT budgets shrink, institutions are exploring the possibilities of open source. In this presentation we'll share our experiences with MySQL, including how it has helped satisfy UCI's business needs, and show how this open source software is a viable option for use in large-scale implementations.
