Assessing a Prototype Learning CommonsSession DetailsWednesday, February 25, 2009 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Hidalgo Ballroom C Session Type: Act 3: Balancing Learning 2.x Speaker(s)
AbstractAt Tulane University librarians and instructional technologists are collaborating to create a learning commons in the main library. The new learning commons will be a phased project, with the first two phases serving as impermanent prototypes for the final, permanent learning commons. Librarians and technologists are using the prototyping phases to collect data on student needs, preferences, and usage patterns, which will in turn inform the design and operational planning for the final phase. This session will present the assessment process, how it is being conducted, what is being learned, and how that information will be incorporated into the final design. |
