Seminar 2—Identity Management Is Coming to Your Campus: Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the WaySession DetailsMonday, June 01, 2009 8:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. International F/G (6th floor) Session Type: Preconference Seminar Speaker(s)
AbstractWhether you know it or not, your campus registrar, financial aid office, library, admissions office, and a variety of other offices and groups are working on initiatives that will directly impact how you manage usernames, passwords, and access. Now’s the time to take a comprehensive look at how you’re approaching identity and access management and how you’ll respond to these user-driven initiatives. If you’re pondering solutions, hoping for flexibility, and wondering how to scale what you’re doing now when the next big challenge arrives, this workshop is for you. We’ll focus on solving business problems rather than detailing technical implementations of specific solutions. Local campuses that have embarked on identity management projects will describe what they did and why, the costs, time frame, essential partners and stakeholders, and successes, failures, and challenges. We’ll then spend group time drawing lessons and inferences and conclude with a roadmap and set of best practices. |
