Abstract

The laboratory component of the cell biology course at the University of Mary Washington employs experiments that require students to collect, record, analyze, and graph significant amounts of data. Generating a complete record of the experiment can leave a student with no time to think and generate thoughtful conclusions about the meaning of the experimental results. The creation and use of an original Flash application combined with student blogs is being used to solve this problem. In this presentation, a demonstration experiment will be performed to show how these tools are being used to facilitate student learning.
