Who Should Attend?

Professionals who are have been in campus IT leadership for one or two years will benefit from this intimate, workshop-style preconference session.

Program Description

Successful IT leaders not only have a vision for the use of technology in advancing their institutional mission, they can articulate it to both technical and non-technical people in clear and compelling terms. This "visioning" process requires an understanding of the stakeholders involved and how to most effectively work with them—IT leaders must blend technical, organizational, and human perspectives to satisfy stakeholder needs.

Where does the new IT director/manager begin? How can the newcomer find information and learn how to use it well? Participants in the New Directors Leadership Seminar come away with valuable strategies and resources for self-discovery and institutional awareness that will enhance the effectiveness of their leadership. Plenary discussions are combined with small, interactive sessions to provide multiple opportunities for learning and relationship building.
