NMI-EDIT Signet and Grouper Early Adopters Deployment WorkshopMarch 20-22, 2006
University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California Core middleware services such as identity management, directory, and authentication provide a foundation for secure, manageable applications throughout an institution. Even with this foundation, as systems and applications proliferate, it becomes more and more difficult to manage user access consistently and cost-effectively. The Signet Privilege Management System and the Grouper Group Tools Suite address this problem by providing a common infrastructure for the distributed management of user privileges and groups across a range of applications. Cosponsored with the University of Southern California, the NMI-EDIT Signet and Grouper Early Adopters Deployment Workshop will provide hands-on experience in the installation and deployment of Internet2's Signet and Grouper packages and their integration with each other and common identity management infrastructures and applications. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other early deployment site representatives about uses and implementations. Workshop participants will:
ParticipationWhile we would like to include all interested campuses, priority will be given to those planning to deploy the software this year and in particular to those interested in providing their experiences in a case study.
