Using campus and national resources, the TeraGrid Distributed Render Environment (TeraDRE) is a render farm implementation that uses open source software, as well as Alias Maya, for rendering images and animations. This workshop will explore the academic uses of animation and scientific visualization in addition to all aspects of implementation, including a variety of user-friendly interfaces for job submissions. Please note: This will be a hands-on workshop; the speaker will provide laptops and the approriate software.
