The Library Everywhere: Making Library Website Content and Tools Readily Exportable to Other PlatformsSession DetailsThursday, January 08, 2009 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. Commonwealth Hall B (second floor) Session Type: Customer Service and Support Speaker(s)
AbstractAcknowledging that many of our users center their web activity around platforms like iGoogle, Facebook, or Netvibes, at the Penn Library we have made it a priority to make all content and tools appearing on our website readily exportable to those platforms. This presentation will outline our approach and demo our implementation. We will also discuss the pros and cons of the standards currently available (RSS, Media RSS, UWA, OpenSocial), as well as the implications for the way we construct our library websites. |
