Internet Policy in Uncertain Economic TimesSession DetailsWednesday, May 06, 2009 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Indiana Ballroom E Session Type: General Session Speaker(s)
AbstractIn these uncertain economic times, a coherent and comprehensive Internet policy is more important than ever—and that includes how higher education leverages information technologies. Is your campus discussing actively how and in what ways to leverage information technologies generally, and enterprise information systems specifically, with overarching security and privacy goals, sustainability, and cost savings in mind? Is your campus integrating information technologies and information systems into its strategic planning initiatives that take into account the challenges of the downturn in the global economy? In this session we will begin by charting the grand challenges that we face, understanding the role of Internet policy in this era of economic uncertainty, and then work through a number of thoughts about not just managing crisis, but creating opportunity. |
