Exposing Emerging Pedagogies: Can Web 2.0 Tools Influence Teaching and Learning? (Research-Based)

Institutions of all types are experimenting with blogs and wikis in various academic environments. Years ago, Penn State made a strategic decision to implement institutional blogging and wiki platforms. In addition to the amazing things happening through their use, we discovered the data behind these services hold secrets that are begging to be explored. This session will illustrate what we have learned about these emergent teaching tools and those faculty and students using them. We will examine the data from these platforms, mashed up with Institutional data, to paint a picture of adoption and utilization across Penn State University's 24-campus system.
