UMBC's Alternate Delivery Program: Supporting Hybrid Course Redesign
Thursday, September 16, 2010
1:15 p.m. - 1:25 p.m.
UMBC's Alternate Delivery Program was started in 2005 to provide support to faculty redesigning a course for hybrid delivery. Course proposals are solicited from across campus targeting faculty who already have active Blackboard courses. An optional one-day "Hybrid Course Design" face-to-face workshop is offered in January and June. Further training involves a review of prior participants' hybrid courses and an interview with DoIT staff. Finally each faculty member completes and presents two hybrid "learning objects" developed for the course. Postcourse student evaluations have provided useful feedback for the ADP program.
