Abstract

Students’ preferences and demands can challenge existing IT and institutional services, and there is sometimes a disconnect between what today's students expect and what universities are delivering. Two themes will be discussed: learning spaces (virtual and real), and student "presence.” Finding imaginative solutions for this "digital disconnect" can improve the teaching and learning environment.
