Faculty and staff from the 16-campus University of North Carolina system conducted an in-depth evaluation of four leading Web conferencing systems: Centra Symposium, Elluminate, HorizonLive, and Macromedia Breeze. New Mexico State University began an aggressive ERP project in October 2003 with a conversion to Banner at the core. Simultaneously, NMSU also went live with workflow, imaging, portal and CMS, SCT ODS/EDW, Cognos reporting, SCT student marketing (Matrix), eVisions, Appworx, and Higher Markets. Although we are tired, the project changed our culture.

Interviews with 42 university undergraduates offer insight into anti-piracy efforts and why they may be failing. Education efforts are seen as phony and unconvincing, lawsuits as unlikely, and even college-supplied access to legal music services may perpetuate a view of media as free, offering little educational value.

ECAR data from 2003 and 2005 make it possible to compare the state of IT security over a critical two-year period. Charging for printing is always a sticky subject. Students see it as another fee and perceive they are getting "nickel and dimed" to death. Le Moyne College introduced a print conservation program that saved money, reduced student printing by 50% in one semester, and met with almost no resistance.

Abstract
The IST Customer Services unit was overwhelmed with issues regarding student/staff PCs being compromised by viruses, spyware, etc. We teamed up with the largest library on campus and--with no increase in staffing--greatly reduced the number of issues. This was done efficiently and effectively through education and self-help.

Abstract
Soon after a project to install instructional technology in 49 classrooms was completed, the theft of an expensive projector made it glaringly obvious that the rooms now needed security systems to protect them. With a budget of only $500 per room, a security system was developed for the newly upgraded classrooms.
