Abstract

What are the pros and cons of running Shibboleth as your campus WebSSO authentication system? Whether you're implementing your first WebSSO or considering transitioning to a new one, this session will provide a brief overview of WebSSO technology, what it does, and how it fits into an identity management infrastructure. In addition, the presenters will explore management topics such as required skill sets, staff responsibilities, and deployment costs, as well as policy and business process associated with WebSSOs, using Shibboleth as a use case. Attendees who are not familiar with identity management are encouraged to attend the preworkshop seminar "Introduction to Identity Management: The Big Picture."
