Abstract

Leveraged for institutional applications, identity management systems are also increasingly relied on to supply location and access information from off-campus organizations. Shibboleth, a Web-based interorganizational authorization system, leverages attribute repositories such as directories and the larger identity management infrastructure to service interinstitutional applications and resources sharing. This session will provide an overview, along with a discussion of the role the identity management system plays and its impact on architectures of the future.
