Call for Proposals
Guidelines for Proposal Submissions
Proposals must be submitted by February 11, 2008.
Applicants will be notified about proposal status in June, 2008.
Presentations or poster presentations from institutions of higher learning may be proposed on topics including, but not limited to, the issues suggested in the topic area descriptions.
Track presentations will take place October 29-31 at EDUCAUSE 2008 in Orlando, Florida. Poster sessions will take place in the afternoon on October 29 and 30.
Presentation or poster presentation proposals from corporations or including corporate presenters will not be accepted for review.
Presentations may take one of the following forms, or you may suggest an alternative format:
- Lecture-style presentations (50 minutes) are the traditional format in which a topic or paper is presented with limited audience interaction, although time for questions and answers is encouraged.
- Panel discussions (50 minutes) consist of a panel of multiple speakers, each offering a perspective on an issue or set of issues, with time for questions and answers.
- Campus perspectives presentations (50 minutes) share the experiences of several (two to four) institutions dealing with the same challenge on their respective campuses, with time for questions and answers.
- Poster presentations (90 minutes) offer the opportunity to share your campus experience through informal, interactive, brief presentations. This format, with multiple sessions in the same room, gives attendees and presenters the opportunity to share and examine problems, issues, and solutions in a more casual, direct, one-on-one environment. In the past, presenters have found that these sessions are a great way for them to learn from the interaction they have with those who stop by.
Proposals will be reviewed by the EDUCAUSE 2008 Program Committee. Proposals will be selected to provide a program that offers a comprehensive and diverse treatment of issues related to the conference theme. Proposal authors will be notified of decisions in June of 2008.
Speaker Expectations
Presenters are responsible for registering in advance for the conference, paying the full conference registration fee, and securing and paying for travel and lodging.
